Men’s Room

talk at a whole new level

A Podcast Hosted by Onimisi Adaba

Who says men don’t talk?

MEN’S ROOM with Onimisi Adaba is a bold, cross-platform talk series exploring modern masculinity through honest, intelligent, and culturally grounded conversations. At its core, the show creates a safe but unfiltered space for men to speak, reflect, and evolve bridging personal experience with expert insight across topics that shape identity, relationships, work, health, and legacy. Produced between Nigeria and the United States, Men’s Room sits at the intersection of African and global Black experiences, positioning it as a culturally relevant property for both local and international audiences.

OUR VISION

With the changing dynamics of the 21st century and the daily struggle for men to fit into their changing roles and responsibilities, this podcast resonates and addresses these challenges.

OUR APPROACH

The 30-minute podcast consists of interviews with everyday and professional men and (occasionally women), as well as expert opinion in the areas of discourse. Beyond talk, the show uses creative means such as dramatizations and special reports on the subject, contributions by a select crop of journalists/reporters who also participate in the discussions of the subject matter. Each episode includes contributed reports with soundbites from various locations where men typically gather e.g. club houses, basketball courts, men's clinic, gym, sauna, conference rooms, barbers shops etc.

We started with radio, and have moved to a podcast format with audio/visual components. In the future, we intend to develop global platforms with our online forums, conferences and meetings, all aimed at giving men a platform to be heard.

TOPICS

The show will feature topics such as:

  • Identity and purpose

  • Love, sex, and relationships

  • Fatherhood and legacy

  • Mental health and emotional intelligence

  • Money, power, and responsibility

  • Migration and cultural displacement

Each episode blends personal stories, expert insight, and on-the-ground perspectives, creating a layered and relatable narrative that resonates across borders.

With its mix of honesty, vulnerability, and cultural nuance, Men’s Room challenges outdated ideas of masculinity while offering new models rooted in accountability, growth, and community.

The African Diaspora Opportunity

Men’s Room is uniquely positioned to engage the African diaspora market, one of the most culturally connected and digitally active audiences globally. With production spanning Nigeria and Houston, Texas, the show naturally reflects the dual realities of African men at home and abroad, making it highly relatable to:

  • First- and second-generation Africans

  • African-American audiences exploring identity connections

  • Caribbean and global Black communities

  • Migrant professionals navigating cultural transitions

SHOW’S PLATFORM

Podcast is the most effective means of communication as it is much easier and cheaper to acquire and so guarantees a wider audience than television. The average phone today has in-built apps that are ready to use. Because it is talk oriented, NN24 Podcast fits the format. The 30 minute program will be the first of its kind, highlighting daily challenges men face and can identify with regardless of their status. The show will feature on podcast platforms like NN24, Spotify, Apple Radio etc
